While still in Japan, Professor Lughano Kusiluka, Vice Chancellor of the University of Dodoma (UDOM), and Professor Abel Makubi, Executive Director of Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH), engaged in fruitful bilateral discussion with Mr. Murakami Kenju, Deputy Director General of the African Affairs Department within the International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Tokyo. H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda and Mr. Tetsuro Yano, former Japanese Senator and President of the Association for African Economic Development of Japan (AFRECO), were also present.

The discussions centered on exploring opportunities for enhanced collaboration and partnerships between Japan and Tanzania in the domains of health and education, particularly focusing on the vision of establishing Dodoma as a medical hub in Africa.

The meeting underscored the strong and enduring relationship between the two countries with regard to the mutual benefits. Both parties expressed enthusiasm about future possibilities and the potential for ongoing growth in these essential sectors.
