On 21 July 2026, H.E. Ambassador Anderson Mutatembwa, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to Japan, and some of Embassy Staff visited Ryukyu University at Okinawa, and they were received by Prof. Ikue Kina, President of the University, Dr. Ryo Nakasone, Head of International Collaboration section and Dr. Bam H.N. Razafindrable, Faculty of Agriculture, the purpose of the visit was to explore areas of collaboration between Ryukyu University and Tanzania universities.
During the meeting, Ambassador highlighted the areas of possible collaboration including Agricultural, Engineering and fisheries.
President Kina, highlighted their redness to collaborate with Tanzania starting at faculty level in the areas of marine science, research program, Agriculture and Health science. Both parties agreed to startup with universities at faculty level and continue up to the level of signing MoU.
