Today, His Excellency Ambassador Baraka Luvanda; Professor Lughano Kusiluka, Vice Chancellor of the University of Dodoma (UDOM); and Professor Abel Makubi, Executive Director of Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH), met with Mr. Tetsuro Yano, a former Japanese Senator and the President of the Association for African Economic Development of Japan (AFRECO) at the AFRECO HQ in Tokyo.

The meeting target to accelerate the initiative to equip the Diagnostic Imaging Centre at UDOM Hospital with state-of-the-art medical technology. Implementing these advanced imaging tools is imperative for the accurate diagnosis of various medical conditions, which will substantially benefit the local community.

In addition, discussions were held with Kurashiki University of Science and Arts regarding the establishment of a Biomedical Engineering Program at UDOM, expected to begin in the next academic year. They also engaged in bilateral talks with QUNIE Corporation to examine the applicability of their MR-X organic soil conditioner, which has demonstrated the capacity to enhance crop yields and improve agricultural quality in Japan. Research is to be conducted in Tanzania in collaboration with UDOM and relevant government institutions (in agriculture and research) to evaluate its effectiveness in Tanzania.

Both Kurashiki University and QUNIE are collaborating with AFRECO in the shared vision of establishing Dodoma as a premium hub for medical professionals in Africa.
