On March 22, 2023, eight (8) Adachi Gakuen Junior and Senior High School students and four (4) teachers paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy and were warmly welcomed by the Embassy staff. Mr. Takumi Hara, the group leader, explained that the purpose of their visit was to provide feedback on their successful trip to Tanzania that held in December 2022 where they stayed for seven days.

Mr. Hara stated that during their tour in Tanzania, students had the chance to visit to various places including, the Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and Manyara regions, where they planted trees and visited coffee farms, as well as marketplaces for cultural products such as “Tinkatinga” paints and “Makonde” carvings. The students also took part in game drives in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Serengeti National Park, and Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, he added.

On their part, students shared their experiences they had while in Tanzania, stating that it was an enjoyable and memorable time in their lives. They pointed out that their visit to Tanzania will greatly enrich their studies and understanding about the country as well as bring Tanzania to the attention of their colleagues.

Mr. Hara concluded his remarks by complimenting Tanzanians for their hospitality and revealing that this was the first trip of the school to the African continent, and that the experience shared inspired them to organize a second trip to Tanzania with a different group of students in July of this year.

In delivering a message on behalf of H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda, the Counselor Mr. Greyson Ishengoma thanked Adachi Gakuen Junior and Senior High School for their love of Tanzania and urged them to become Goodwill Ambassadors of Tanzania by continuing to share good memories and experiences they had about the country with their peers and Japanese who have never been in Tanzania.
