On 10 November 2024, the Embassy joined other Commonwealth Missions based in Japan to honor and pay respects at a Commonwealth Remembrance Day ceremony and to lay a wreath on behalf of Tanzania in Hodogaya, Yokohama, at the Commonwealth War Cemetery.

The ceremony is held annually to remember and honor the sacrifices made by Commonwealth soldiers who fought and died during World War II. It serves as a reminder of the importance of international cooperation in promoting peace and the detrimental effects of war on communities and individuals.

On the occasion, Mr. Hosea Chikolongo, Political and Culture Attaché, represented H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda.
