Today, the Embassy had the privilege of delivering a lecture about Tanzania to 20 first-year students at Tokyo University for Foreign Studies (TUFS) who are taking African studies courses. The lecture was part of the SADC lecture series program, which involves Embassies of SADC member states in Japan collaborating with several universities in Japan that teach African studies.

The lecture showcased the richness of Tanzanian history, political and economic context, art and culture, as well as natural heritage. The presentation was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session, which provided an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of Tanzania and engage in lively discussions about the country.

Prior to the lecture, Mr. Greyson Ishengoma, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy, was welcomed by Prof. Makiko Sakai, who then led him to a courtesy meeting with Prof. Chika Takeda, Vice President for Education of TUFS. The three had fruitful exchanges about the importance of these lectures and the potential for future cultural exchanges between the Tanzania Embassy and TUFS.
