On 3rd March 2024, the Embassy hosted the Annual General Meeting of Tanzania Diaspora in Japan with the participation of about 150 Diasporas. The meeting was jointly organised by the Embassy and Tanzanite Society with the financial support of CRDB Bank Plc.
Apart from the main agenda of the meeting, which was to consider, adopt and officially launch the Constitution, the inauguration of the official Seal (Hanko) and Official Logo took place. In addition, a presentation by CRDB on Tanzanite Account for Diaspora was made, attracting as many as 70 new members from amongst the participants.
It became clear that there are many Diasporas in Japan who would want to register for Tanzanite Account but have not been able to do so but of the limited time that the CRDB Bank officer had during this visit. Hence, the Embassy will be following up with the bank to fulfill its promise of resending its officers to Japan and other areas of accreditation.
