On February 17th, 2024, the Embassy participated in a Tourism Promotion Event organized by TOFA, a Japanese Non-Profit Organization. The purpose of the event was to promote Tanzanian culture and tourist attractions to the Japanese societies.
The event included several activities, such as a presentation on Tanzania's culture and tourist attractions, a presentation on TOFA's experience in Tanzania, and a display of Tanzanian art and cultural items. The event also featured drawings by Tanzanian children, and participants were encouraged to draw pictures of their dreams, which would be taken to selected primary schools in Tanzania for an exchange of experiences. Additionally, there was singing and dancing of Tanzanian songs, as well as a puzzle of the African continent.
Over 40 people attended the successful event who were interested in learning more about Tanzania.
TOFA is a Japanese NPO led by Ms. Chihiro Tanaka, Chairperson. It is formed by ladies with mutual interest in supporting African communities economically and socially. Since 2017, they have visited various communities in Tanzania particularly, Arusha and Mara regions.
