Today, 28th October 2025, the Embassy participated in the Ladies’ Friendship Association for Africa and the Middle East Charity Bazaar, hosted in Tokyo. This event included the participation of embassies from African and Middle Eastern countries in Japan; and is organized by the Nihon Chukinto Africa Fujinkai (NCAF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. NCAF consists of spouses of Japanese ambassadors who have previously served in African and Middle Eastern regions.

The Bazaar not only showcases the tourism and cultural attractions of the participating countries but also aims to raise funds to support individuals in need within these regions. The event was inaugurated by Her Imperial Highness Princess Kako of Akishino, who visited the booths, engaged with the participants, and expressed her gratitude for the enduring partnership between Japan and the countries of Africa and the Middle East.

The Embassy utilized this platform to promote Tanzania’s attractions, including its tourism, culture, and a diverse array of traditional products, such as handicrafts and garments that reflect the country’s rich heritage. Additionally, authentic Tanzanian dishes and beverages were served, providing visitors with an opportunity to appreciate Tanzania’s culinary traditions. Furthermore, a performance of traditional Tanzanian (Wagogo) dances was presented by Japanese nationals who had resided in Tanzania, alongside the spouses of Embassy staff.

The Charity Bazaar proved to be a resounding success, drawing more than 2,000 visitors and involving approximately 52 embassies and over 50 Japanese non-governmental organizations. Attendees had the opportunity to purchase items and food showcased at various booths, with all proceeds directed towards social projects dedicated to improving the lives of those in need in Africa and the Middle East.
