A delegation of three experts from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Tourism (MILT), led by Mr. Kado Hiroshi, Director of Overseas Strategies for Construction, visited the Embassy on 17th November 2023. The purpose of the visit was to inform the Embassy about their plan for infrastructure development between Japan and Tanzania. They stated that they are planning to hold a Public-Private Quality Infrastructure Conference in the future, which they had done in 2016, 2019, and 2021.

Mr. Kado further informed that to achieve cooperation in infrastructure development, the State Minister responsible for Infrastructure is scheduled to visit Tanzania on January 8, 2024. The State Minister will have bilateral meetings with his counterpart Ministry in Tanzania, together with Heads of Tanzania Roads Agency (TANROADS) and Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA). In preparation for the above meetings, the Counsellor of MILT is planning to visit Tanzania on December 7, 2023, to have meetings with officials from the Ministry of Works, the Ministry of Transport, and authorities under the Ministries, including TANROADS and TPA.

After brief introduction of the purpose of their visit, Mr. Kado provided an overview of the projects they have implemented in Tanzania so far and the public and private companies that they have engaged with, including those under the Japan Africa Infrastructure Development Association (JAIDA). He also requested the Embassy's cooperation in connecting with the relevant authorities in Tanzania as well as facilitating their visits to Tanzania scheduled in December 2023 and January 2024.

The Embassy appreciated the work done by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MILT) and their partner JAIDA to provide quality infrastructure and promote the understanding of the Japanese ''quality infrastructure concept'' by organizing public-private infrastructure conferences. They also commended their efforts to build amicable bilateral relations with the public and private sector in Japan, Africa in general and Tanzania in particular; and assured them the support of the Embassy to smooth implementation of their activities in Tanzania.
