Today, the Embassy received Mr. Kazufumi Tanaka, the Director of the Business Development Division at the Overseas Business Support Center of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). He was welcomed by Ms. Edna Dioniz Chuku, the Counsellor for Economic Affairs at the Embassy.
Mr. Tanaka is set to be attached to the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) a program facilitated by JICA. This attachment follows an Official Statement on Cooperation announced in May 2025 in Osaka, Japan, by the then Executive Director of the Tanzania Investment Center, Mr. Gilead Teri (currently the Director General of TISEZA), and Mr. Okumoto Masakatsu, the Director of Africa Affairs at JICA.
The cooperation between TISEZA (formerly TIC) and JICA aims to strengthen support for Japanese investors in Tanzania. This initiative allows the JICA Investment Attaché to be stationed at TISEZA, where dedicated assistance will be provided to facilitate investment processes for Japanese companies in Tanzania.
Mr. Tanaka is expected to arrive at TISEZA headquarters in early October 2025 to begin his term of duty, marking a significant step toward deepening investment ties and fostering closer economic collaboration between Tanzania and Japan.
