I would like to welcome you all to this Special Cupping Seminar which is being conducted for the second time.

I am happy to note that many of you who participated in our last year seminar have joined again this year.

This clearly shows how much interest you have for the precious and finest coffee in the World - which is most liked by many of you and has been branded as The Kilimanjaro Coffee.

I am particularly happy to note the record number of attendees for this year. It has exceeded last year’s, which is another clear testimony of the growing love you have for the Tanzanian coffee.

Please allow me to use this opportunity to extend my sincere gratitude to the organizers of SCAJ 2023 for providing us with this special platform to promote and celebrate our beloved Tanzanian coffee.

It is quite appropriate to mention here that The World Specialty Coffee Conferences and Exhibitions are a testament to the global recognition of coffee as not just a beverage, but a cultural and economic phenomenon that connects nations and people worldwide.

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is my truly honor and profound pleasure to share with you today, albeit briefly Tanzania’s rich coffee heritage and, probably showcase the exceptional quality of Tanzanian coffee.

In doing so, I am mindful of the time allocated to me and do not intend to abuse this privilege.

Tanzania lies in the heart abundant natural resources for its stunning landscapes, rich biodiversity, an abundant natural resource, vibrant culture, and, of course, its unique coffee.

We are a nation that is blessed with an ideal climate, fertile soil, and the dedication of our coffee farmers, who work tirelessly to produce some of the finest coffee beans in the world.

Today, we are gathered here to explore the unique flavors and aromas that make Tanzanian coffee so unique and, exceptional.

By and large, our coffee represents a symphony of tastes, blending the notes of citrus, berries, and spices with a rich, full body that leaves a lasting impression on the palate. It is a coffee that embodies the essence of Tanzania's diverse regions, each with its own distinctive terroir, elevating the coffee-drinking experience to new heights.

But beyond this incredible flavor profile, Tanzanian coffee tells a story of resilience, sustainability, and community.

Our coffee growers are committed to ethical and sustainable practices, ensuring that their work not only benefits their families, but also preserves the environment for future generations.

Dear Friends, ladies, and gentlemen,

As we gather here today, let us not forget the tireless efforts of our coffee farmers; the dedication of our coffee exporters; and the passion of our coffee roasters and baristas.  In my view, they are the unsung heroes behind every cup of Tanzanian coffee that graces your tables.

I equally recognize the hard work and expertise of all of you - the coffee professionals present here today.

Your coffee tasting experience is a true testament to the skill in identifying nuanced flavors; your understanding of the complexities of coffee profiles; as well as the ability to provide us with an exceptional sensory experience.

As we embark on this remarkable journey through the world of Tanzanian coffee, let us not forget the shared values that unite us in this global coffee community. Let us celebrate the bonds that transcend borders and cultures, all forged over a shared appreciation for this amazing beverage.

During this seminar and cupping session, you will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the diverse range of Tanzanian coffee flavors. We encourage you to engage in discussions, ask questions, and build connections with our Tanzanian coffee experts and producers present here today.

In closing, I would like to reiterate our appreciation to all of you for your interest in Tanzanian coffee and, for joining us on this journey to discover its unique and captivating character. 
I am so confident that this event will further strengthen the bond between Tanzania and Japan in the world of coffee.
