On Wednesday 15th June 2022, H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda visited the Market Enterprise Company (ME) warehouse in Ibaraki. He was warmly welcomed by the company’s team headed by Mr. Shunsuke Sato, Director of Business Development Division.
Ambassador Luvanda accompanied by Embassy staff, Mr. Greyson Ishengoma and Mr. Hosea Chikolongo were taken through a brief presentation on the company’s profile. Market Enterprise Company mainly deals with selling of used agricultural machinery to both domestic and foreign markets around in the World. In Africa, the company exports its products to various countries including Nigeria, Tanzania, Egypt, Zambia, Kenya and South Africa. It has recently started doing business in Nigeria through a distributor and expects Tanzania to be the second distributor in Africa. In order to realize that, Mr. Sato requested the Embassy to assist in recommending a distributor of used agricultural machinery in Tanzania so as to tie with ME Company.
At the end of the visit, Ambassador Luvanda expressed his gratitude for the Company’s invitation and organizing the tour to see the various agricultural equipment which are in high demand in Tanzania, and promised the Embassy’s assistance in establishing contacts of the right partners in Tanzania for a successful business venture. He also advised the company to consider participating at the Nane Nane Fair, Tanzania Annual Agriculture Exhibition on 8th August every year where many agriculture stakeholders visit and participate. He added that, Tanzania is a better place with a strong market base as well as a better investment environment supported by sound policies, legal and institutional framework. He assured the company of the support from the Embassy in making this important business a success in Tanzania for the benefit of Tanzanian farmers.
