H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda received on Tuesday 8th February 2022, the retired Ambassador Hiroyuki Yushita who is the Senior Managing Director of the International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC). Ambassador Yushita paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Luvanda and the duo held a meeting which was also attended by officers from the Embassy, Mr. John Kambona and Mr. Greyson Ishengoma.
Ambassador Luvanda welcomed Mr. Yushita to the Embassy and expressed his appreciations for an early opportunity to meet with Ambassador Yushita. Ambassador Yushita appreciated for the warm reception and stated that the purpose of his visit mainly to apprise Ambassador Luvanda on the activities of FEC as well as to confer him his Honorary Membership which has been granted to him just as to other members of the Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo. Ambassador Yushita went on to explain in detail about FEC activities which include, but not limited: to organize meetings, conferences, workshops and seminars; inviting foreign dignitaries in Japan for exchange of views on political and economic issues; Interviewing Honorary Members on various issues on foreign policies; sending delegations abroad for meetings and international interactions, organizing joint seminars among Universities, and many others. He finally asked for permission to have Ambassador Luvanda’s profile to be published his profile on FEC news bulletin so as to introduce him to the leadership of FEC fraternity and to fellow honorary members.
Ambassador Luvanda appreciated for the honor of being conferred an Honorary membership to FEC, a forum that will open an opportunity to meet with colleagues, business captains and a host of other distinguished fellows. He expressed his joy to the fact that this platform provides an avenue to promote Tanzania’s trade, business, investment and tourism opportunities to the Japanese industry for their full exploitation. He pledged to become an active honorary member.
Mr. Yushita thanked Ambassador Luvanda for the frank and insightful exchange and for his readiness to work closely with FEC for the common vision.
At the end of the meeting Ambassador Yushita raised a couple of specific questions which were answered by Ambassador Luvanda. Ambassador Yushita promised to use the explanations given by Ambassador Luvanda to publish a short article in the upcoming FEC publication for the consumption of a wide audience within FEC fraternity. He also wished Ambassador Luvanda a successful tour of duty.
