On 5th March 2024, Ambassador Baraka Luvanda and Embassy staff paid a courtsey visit to the Headquarters of DAIKIN Company in Osaka, renowned for its air conditioning (AC) services provided through its subsidiary, Baridi Baridi Company in Tanzania. Ambassador Luvanda was graciously received by Mr. Atsushi Kakimoto, the General Manager of Business and International Marketing at DAIKIN, accompanied by Mr. Hiroki Asada, the Chief Executive Officer of Baridi Baridi Company.

During the visit, Ambassador Luvanda was presented with a comprehensive overview of DAIKIN Company's operations and its services in Tanzania through Baridi Baridi Company. The presentation covered the company's innovative technologies, sustainability initiatives, and its commitment to the local community.

In his address to the company, Ambassador Luvanda commended the outstanding air conditioning services provided by Baridi Baridi, which have brought hope to numerous Tanzanians, enabling them to utilize air conditioning not only in workplaces, but also, in their residences, owing to the quality and cost-effective services. He also commended the role of Baridi Baridi in creating employment opportunities for many Tanzanian youths in the country through its community projects, including the provision of vocational training through VETA. He concluded his remarks by assuring them of the Government's support for their business in Tanzania, while also persuading them to consider investing in Tanzania by establishing an air conditioning assembly facility.

The visit to DAIKIN Headquarters formed part of Ambassador Luvanda's two-day working trip to Osaka, during which he also hosted an Investment Promotion Seminar for the members of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to further strengthening economic and business ties between Tanzania and Japan.
