On Monday 4th April 2022, H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda received Mr. Espé-Martin KAPONGO KAPONGO, Chargé d’Affairs a.i of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who paid a courtesy at the Embassy in Tokyo. Mr. KAPONGO was accompanied by Mr. Patrick SHONGO WA SHONGO, Second Secretary and Ms. Aída FALL, Economic Affairs Attaché. Also in attendance was Ms. Edna Chuku, First Secretary - Economic Affairs who accompanied Ambassador Luvanda.
The visit was an opportunity to exchange views on ways to further develop the relations of cooperation and partnership between Tanzania and DRC at both bilateral and multilateral levels. The duo also exchanged their ideas on multilateral matters of mutual interest in the perspective of SADC and EAC Regional Blocks taking into account also that DRC is a new member of the EAC.
Mr. KAPONGO appreciated for the opportunity availed him to meet Ambassador Luvanda and expressed his expectations to have further opportunities to learn more from him given his recent arrival in Japan in March 2022. On his part, Ambassador Luvanda expressed his sincere gratitude for the visit of Mr. KAPONGO and his delegation. He assured him of his support all the time owing to the brotherly and the long-standing historical relations between Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
