On November 26, 2024, Ambassador Baraka Luvanda, accompanied by three Embassy staff, visited Odawara City to learn more about its fishing industry. He was warmly welcomed by Mr. Yoshihiro Takei, Deputy Mayor of Odawara, and Mr. Mitsutoshi Uchida, Director of the Fisheries and Coastal Division.
During his visit, Ambassador Luvanda toured three key facilities: the Kyodo Reizo Hayakawa Warehouse, the Fisheries Technology Center Sagami Bay Test Site, and the Kyodo Reizo Oi Logistics Center.
The visit was concluded with a working lunch hosted by the Suzuki Company, which organized the tour. At the lunch, Ambassador Luvanda and Mr. Suzuki, President of Suzuki Company, agreed to continue discussions aimed at strengthening the relationship between Odawara and Tanzania, particularly through sister city initiatives and educational exchanges.
