On 30th October 2024, the Embassy had a meeting with representatives of the Yokohama City Council, along with the President of JaBS (Japan Baseball and Softball Association) and the CEO of Arai Cattle. The discussions centered around a planned visit of the team to Tanzania in December 2024 and a collaborative event about Tanzania in Yokohama in February 2025, involving the City of Yokohama and the two Japanese organizations currently engaging with Tanzania - JaBS (sports) and Arai Cattle (trade).
The event is intended to promote Tanzania to the communities of Yokohama, as well as strengthen ties with the Yokohama City in preparation for the TICAD 9 Summit scheduled for August next year, which will be hosted by the City.
