On 17 December 2025, the Embassy participated in a fifth-grade Home Economics class at Sakuramachi Elementary School in Setagaya, Tokyo. The Embassy staff were warmly welcomed by the Principal, Mr. Yasuyuki NAKAMURA, who introduced the school as one of the largest in the area, with five classes per grade and a total enrollment of approximately 1,000 students.
The class was conducted under an African theme, featuring Tanzania-inspired dishes. A total of 32 students planned the recipes and prepared seven dishes from scratch, incorporating moringa leaves and locally grown vegetables from Setagaya. The dishes included curry soup, vegetable soup, tomato stew, vegetable sauté, rice flour dumplings (shiratama), banana pancakes, and carrot cake.
Throughout the session, the students showed great enthusiasm in learning about Tanzania, particularly its food, traditional clothing, tourism, and the relationship between Tanzania and Japan. In the spirit of continued cultural exchange, the students were invited to visit the Embassy for further engagement and learning about Tanzanian culture.
