From December 5th to 10th, 2023, a group of eight (08) Tanzanian Ambassadors, including H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda, embarked on a noble journey to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. The Kilimanjaro climb aimed to support the commendable efforts of Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, in promoting Tanzania tourism. This endeavor also, was intended to celebrate the 62nd Anniversary of Tanzania Mainland Independence through the Twenzetu Kileleni campaign.

Every year, on the 9th of December, the Tanzanian Ambassadors, along with members from public and private institutions, tour agencies, and the country's defense forces, raise the National Flag at Uhuru Peak as a symbolic act to celebrate the country's independence. This act also promotes the unique and awe-inspiring beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro, which stands tall as the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

The remarkable climb by the Tanzanian Ambassadors is a testament to the country's commitment to promoting tourism and showcasing its natural beauty to the world.
