The Embassy of Tanzania in Tokyo bids farewell to H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda and his family on their return to Tanzania, marking the successful completion of the Ambassador’s four-year tour of duty in Japan (from 2021 to 2025).

Reflecting on his service, Ambassador Luvanda noted:
“It has been a true privilege and honor to serve as the Ambassador of Tanzania to Japan, a country with which Tanzania relishes its long-standing and strong ties. The relationship between Japan and Tanzania is founded on a spirit of partnership and friendship, nurtured at multiple levels. My successor, Ambassador Anderson Mutatembwa, is currently preparing for his arrival in Japan, and I would be most grateful if you could extend to him the same support and cooperation that you have so generously shown to me. Though I will be leaving, I look forward to maintaining the friendships I have built here, and I remain committed to doing my part in further advancing the strong partnership between our two countries.” – end of quote.

Upon the completion of his tour of duty effective today, His Excellency Baraka H. Luvanda departed Tokyo for Dodoma this evening (JST). Ambassador Luvanda, his spouse, Mrs. Consolata Luvanda, and family were seen off at Narita Airport by the Embassy staff and their families, accompanied by a number of Tanzania Diaspora in Japan.
