On 18 May 2023, H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda along with other invited dignitaries attended and officiated the inauguration ceremony of the refurbished facilities of the NODAI International Center at Tokyo University of Agriculture in Setagaya, Tokyo.
The NODAI International Center aimed to serve as a hub for disseminating the Tokyo University of Agriculture intellectual property to the rest of the world, as it symbolized the role of university as a Global Center of Excellence in the field of agricultural sciences.
In his remarks, Ambassador Luvanda expressed his sincere gratitude for the long-standing partnership between the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania and the Tokyo University of Agriculture in Japan, that enabled several Tanzanians to benefit from the educational exchange program between the two universities. He interacted with Tanzanian scholars at the campus and had a guided tour, as he wrapped up the inaugural event.
