On 16th March 2026, H.E. Anderson Mutatembwa received Mr. Kenichi Taneya, Vice Chairman of the Japan Used Motor Vehicle Exporters Association (JUMVEA) and Director in charge of Saint Parts (Premium Auto Parts Co. Ltd). The company (Saint Parts) has been investing in Tanzania’s automotive spare parts and vehicle supply sector since 2013.
The discussion centered on strengthening cooperation in the automotive industry, including the supply of quality used motor vehicles and spare parts, promotion of investment in vehicle assembly and maintenance services, as well as compliance with Tanzania’s standards and regulations on vehicle imports, safety, and environmental protection. Mr. Taneya also highlighted the company’s other business ventures in Tanzania, including the operation of a bonded warehouse, as well as investments in retail and hospitality through Macha Café and Komonoya shopping outlets, which contribute to local employment creation, skills development, and business diversification in the country.
Ambassador Mutatembwa reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investment, and encouraged increased participation of Japanese companies in the automotive sector, particularly in value addition, technology transfer, and skills development to support sustainable industrial growth.
