On 29 November 2024, the Embassy received Mr. Yoshitaka Toyonaga, Project Formulation Advisor of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) - Tanzania Office.
Discussions centered on JICA's ongoing initiatives in Tanzania, notably in the trade and investment sectors, which fall within Mr. Toyonaga's portfolio. Key topics covered were preparations for the EXPO OSAKA 2025 and the upcoming TICAD 9, scheduled to take place in Japan in 2025. Both events are expected to serve as significant platforms for enhancing Japan-Tanzania relations and promoting business ties.
Likewise, discussions featured on various business matching initiatives and forums aimed at connecting Tanzanian and Japanese companies. Notably, the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) was cited as a key platform for promoting business relations. They also revolved around trade missions, investment forums, seminars, and dialogues that JICA is co-organizing with various stakeholders to facilitate business connections and information sharing between the two countries.
The Embassy expressed its appreciation to the Government of Japan through JICA for its continued support of Tanzania’s economic development and the enhancement of bilateral business relations, paving the way for future collaborations.
