The representatives from the City of Yokohama, along with the President of the Japan Baseball and Softball Association (JaBS) and the President of Cattle Co. Ltd (trading company), are visiting Tanzania from 03 to 11 December 2024, to strengthen bilateral relations between Tanzania and Japan.

Known as a TICAD City, Yokohama’s engagement in this visit underscores the continuous intention of Japan to enhancing economic development and partnership with Tanzania. This initiative is part of the broader TICAD City effort, which aims to foster cooperation in various sectors, including sports, education, trade, and tourism.

During their visit, the delegation will also attend the 12th Tanzania Koshien Tournament, demonstrating their desire to promote sports and cultural exchange. Notably, Tanzania is the first African nation to be involved in the Japan-Africa Baseball & Softball Association (JaBS) Africa Koshien Project, which is carried out in close partnership with the Tanzania Baseball & Softball Association (TaBSA). This collaboration further highlights the strong growing ties between Japan and Tanzania, particularly in the realm of sports development.
