On November 15, 2024, His Excellency Ambassador Baraka Luvanda, accompanied by two Embassy staff, attended a "Welcome Party to Amami," an event organized by the Chairman of the Japan Amami Golf Association in honor of the Ambassador's visit to Amami Island. The event, which was held at Amami Kanko Hotel was attended by 150 guests and was graced by Mr. Sohei Yasuda, Mayor of Amami City.

During the event, participants were presented with an engaging presentation highlighting Tanzania’s rich wildlife, natural reserves, cultural heritage, sports, arts, and adventure activities.

This visit to Amami has been organized by Tanzaniaphilia Gallery Ltd. and is scheduled to take place from November 15 to 17, 2024, with activities in both Amami and Tokunoshima Cities.

Prior to attending the party, the Ambassador and his delegation had the opportunity to visit Amami Park and the Isson Tanaka Museum. At Amami Park, they witnessed the well-preserved environment and learned about the excellent work of the late Isson Tanaka. They also visited the office of Mayor Sohei Yasuda, where they engaged in a fruitful exchanges on strengthening bilateral ties between Amami and Tanzania.
