On 28th November 2023, H.E. Ambassador Baraka Luvanda paid a courtesy visit to the Japan International Broadcasting Corporation (NHK World) and received a warm welcome from Ms. Tanaka, the Managing Director of NHK. The visit aimed at reinforcing the strong and long-standing relationship between NHK and Tanzania through the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC). 

In his remarks, Ambassador Luvanda expressed his gratitude for the long-lasting outstanding cooperation between NHK and TBC. He commended the Kiswahili programs through "NKH Idhaa ya Kiswahili" and the exchange programs which allow Tanzanian journalists from TBC to visit NHK in Japan. He assured NHK of the Embassy's unwavering support in promoting Swahili language and programs and strengthening friendly relations with their counterparts in Tanzania - the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC). 

On her part, Ms. Tanaka appreciated the visit by Ambassador Luvanda and his delegation to the NHK premises. She informed him that he would have the opportunity to tour the offices considering that it was his first visit to the NHK premises. She also welcomed Ambassador Luvanda to have a live interview at the studios regarding the relationship of Tanzania and Japan that would be broadcasted to NHK's audience.
